Built as a time-saving resource for the busy restaurant entrepreneur, MonkeyDish.com collects content that operators can use but often don't have time to find themselves. And through partnerships with such industry heavyweights as the Culinary Institute of America, Technomic and Bill Main, the site is populated with great how-to content, from video tutorials to downloadable worksheets, templates and policy forms. Here one finds inspiration and ideas for the right side of the brain, and business tools for the left.
Integra came on board to relaunch this well-established site and migrate a large volume of existing web content to the new platform. To get the site up and running quickly with all features in a way that was maintainable by non-technical content editors, we chose the Drupal platform, a free software package which allows anyone to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content on a website. We worked with the client and the design team to create a professional look with solid information architecture to make the large amount of content easy to navigate.
We built a custom Drupal theme and used a wide variety of Drupal features such as custom content types, views, panels, modules, hooks and triggers for customizing page templates, and a dynamic XML file which feeds the flash video player. This site, rich in both content and technology, came together in a short period of time and remains a solid industry resource, supporting our client's commitment to excellence in their area of expertise.
